Kim comes from Massachusetts where she trained at the Boston Ballet. After being told she was too tall and basically hopeless, she discovered modern dance and was saved! She attended Florida State University for a year, and while there, auditioned for and transferred to the BFA program at Fordham University/Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Upon graduating, she worked and toured in New York with Heidi Latsky Dance before relocating to Los Angeles in 2005. She enjoyed performing there with various pick up modern dance companies, teaching ballet, pointe, modern (Horton technique) and tap, as well as working in the fitness industry, whilst rollerblading Everywhere. In 2008, she came to Colorado and began working as Artistic Director of a ballet conservatory. Since moving to Colorado, she is very fortunate to have joined Ormao Dance Company in Colorado Springs under the direction of Jan Johnson, as well as the staff at both Corepower Yoga and Pikes Peak Community College. Kim greatly enjoys her role as ballet director at Synergy Dance Academy, teaching ballet, pointe and Horton to all ages and levels. She is also in her second year of teaching Fundamentals of Dance at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. In her spare time, Kim enjoys snowboarding, crochet, her single speed road bike and taking long road trips with killer playlists and friends.
